In 2009 Rumba Beach Resort redefined premium accommodation in Caloundra offering the first luxury 5-star accommodation. The resort is enviably located on Bulcock Beach with unparalleled views across Pumicestone Passage and Bribie Island. In 2023 we designed the new reception and a makeover of the bar area to ensure that Rumba can continue to position itself as a leader in Sunshine Coast accommodation. The construction was completed in July 2024.
A harmonious and calming palette of whites, neutrals and blues compliment the fabric of the development and capture the essence of the surrounding coastal environment. A curved green wall invites you into the space and you are greeted with a reception and waiting area that boasts comfort and the luxurious textures of timber, leather, linen, marble and sandstone. Adentro wanted the new curved forms to mirror the organic lines of the lagoon pool, decks and landscaping that are at the heart of the development. The new reception speaks ‘relaxed coastal luxury’ with beautiful natural finishes, the sound of running water and textures that flow into the bar area ensuring a seamless connection between the entry, pools and natural environment beyond. The design also addresses safety in design issues and requirements for access & mobility.
