The Chung Tian Temple is one of the five most popular tourist sites in Brisbane. The Buddhist sanctuary is currently undergoing a $20 million-plus expansion and Adentro Design was responsible for the interior design.
Proposed Stage 2 of the Temple extends the existing complex, which was opened in 1993, with additional multi-purpose uses including pilgrim accommodation, a meditation hall as well as dining and multi-purpose amenity spaces. The design was sensitive to the existing architectural and its deep cultural significance. Interior spaces are simple, light and low maintenance with durable and functional joinery to complement this minimal aesthetic. The design included extensive signage throughout the sanctuary.
This project is currently under construction.
